International field visit with geologists from the University of Bucharest

In the past few days, we held a joint field visit with researchers from the University of Bucharest on the Teleorman plain (Romania). Led by Professor Alfred Vespreamu-Sorte, we visited several archaeological sites. During the field visit, the previously taken cores were sampled and the results discussed so far. In the future, plant macrofossil analysis will be carried out from the samples, which represents an exceptional opportunity for the vegetation reconstruction of the alpine region of the South Carpathians and the Romanian Plain. Plant macrofossil datasets from such sites are extremely rare.
