New postdoctoral fellow appointed by the DOMINO-CLIMATE project: Aneta Formackova

We are pleased to inform you that Aneta Formackova joined the DOMINO-CLIMATE team in September 2023. Aneta graduated from Charles University in Prague and completed her PhD there in 2022. She worked at the Czech National Museum and the Czech Geological Survey. Her research topic is quantitative summer temperature reconstruction in the South Carpathians and Pirin Mts for the last 11700 years.

In scope of this project the postdoctoral fellow analyses fossil chironomid assemblages from 2-3 Holocene alpine lake sediment cores (South Carpathians, Pirin Mts, Durmitor Mts) and carries out quantitative July and summer temperature reconstructions with high resolution over the 4000-8500 cal yr BP interval. She will work in a team, whose other members work on the same sediment cores using other methods. Team members are expected to interpret and publish their results in close collaboration.
