New postdoctoral fellow appointed by the DOMINO-CLIMATE project: Diana Hanganu

We are pleased to inform you that Diana Hanganu joined the DOMINO-CLIMATE team in May 2023. Diana works also at the University of Bucharest and her research interests are in palaeovegetation and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction through the study of biological microremains, such as pollen, non-pollen palynomorphs, and microcharcoal. Her work focuses on Holocene vegetation dynamics and understanding the relationship between humans and vegetation changes, mainly from floodplains and alluvial sites.

In scope of this project she will analyse pollen from Lake Belea with high resolution (100 yr) between 4000-8000 cal yr BP, pollen based climate reconstruction with the help of Eniko Magyari and János Korponai, writes publication about the Holocene vegetation changes in the Fogaras Mts using the pollen, microXRF, LOI, macro- and microcharcoal and 14C results with special focus on the mid Holocene pollen-inferred climate changes.
