Research interest

My research interests are in palaeoecology, palynology, and palaeoclimatology, with a focus on reconstructing long-term vegetation and climate dynamics in the Carpathian Basin. My PhD research investigates Holocene forest development, particularly the expansion of European beech (Fagus sylvatica), using high-resolution pollen, plant macrofossil, charcoal, and sediment records. I am especially interested in how climate variability, disturbance, and human impact shaped past forest ecosystems, and how palaeoecological data can inform our understanding of present and future environmental change.
